– Scout Sunday – February 8 – 11:00 AM

Scouts and leaders are invited to attend the annual observance of Scout Sunday this coming Sunday at the 11:00 Mass at St. Juliana. This annual celebration reminds us that a Scout is reverent. The Troop will sit together in reserved pews. Class A uniform and nice pants – please.

Permission slips and payment for the cabin camping weekend at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta are due at the February 9 Troop meeting. The permission slip is in the Resource Center on the Troop webpage. The cost of the weekend is $45.00 per camper.

– Sock Drive Report

It was another record year for the Sock and Underwear Drive in every category. We collected over 3200 pieces of clothing, over $3200 in cash and gift card donations, and we had the highest participation rate by Scouts. The parishioners of St. Juliana were, as always, very generous!
Thanks to Assistant Scoutmaster Mike Reese for taking the lead on the Drive.

– Ad Altare Dei Medals Awarded at Holy Name Cathedral

Five Troop 965 Scouts received the Catholic Scout religious award Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God.) on Sunday, February 1 at Holy Name Cathedral. The Scouts – Bill Keeble, Charlie Keeble, Jimmy Lagoni, Joe Petrash, and Jonah Ramirez – were among two dozen Scouts from around the Archdiocese of Chicago who earned the award. It was a happy coincidence that Bishop John Siemianowski presided over the award ceremony.
The Scouts were instructed and coached by Mr. Chris Floss and Deacon Tom Dombai over a period of eight months during 2025.
In addition, Troop 965 received the Pope Paul VI Unit Excellence Award. The award recognizes Scout units for their program development and support of the aims of Catholic Scouting.
